Joining the Board of the North Wales International Music Festival
Cyrill Ibrahim has been appointed to the Board of Trustees of the North Wales International Music Festival (NWIMF). Founded in 1972 by composer William Mathias, the festival is one of Wales’s most celebrated cultural events, dedicated to excellence, accessibility, and community.
Cyrill’s appointment coincides with his upcoming recital at the festival on 12 September, where he will perform Harmonie du Soir, a programme inspired by Baudelaire’s poetry. The performance will feature works by Liszt, Schubert, Debussy, and Beethoven, alongside new commissions.
As a trustee, Cyrill will serve alongside distinguished figures including composer Paul Mealor, whose works have been performed at landmark national occasions. His dual role as performer and trustee reflects his deep commitment to both the artistic and organisational future of the festival.
The appointment underscores Cyrill’s growing influence not only as a performer but also as a cultural leader, supporting the festival’s mission to inspire and engage audiences across generations.
